The Devil Wears Prada
American metal band The Devil Wears Prada has always explored difficult life topics in their music. For more than two decades, they have not been afraid to talk about depression, finding meaning in chaos, or struggling with faith, existence, and death.
All these years of experience ultimately led the band—Mike Hranica (vocals), Jeremy DePoyster (guitar/vocals), Kyle Sipress (guitar), Jonathan Gering (keyboards/percussion), and Giuseppe Capolupo (drums)—to write their ninth album, Flowers. "Flowers is a story about trying to understand why people still struggle with darkness and demons even though they have everything they ever wanted," explains guitarist Jeremy DePoyster.
The band's growing influence is also evidenced by the fact that fans voted With Roots Above and Branches Below (2009) one of the "5 Best Metalcore Albums" in a Revolver magazine poll, which the magazine dubbed a "true metalcore milestone." The band has placed six times in a row in the Top 5 of the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart, including the albums Dead Throne (2011), 8:18 (2013), Space EP (2015), Transit Blues (2016), The Act (2019), and ZII EP (2021). The latter album served as a continuation of one of their most popular projects, the 2010 Zombie EP. Following its release, the band surpassed a quarter of a billion cumulative streams and views.
